I made a quick little scavenger hunt list and told them we only had to take pictures of the item not take it home with us. (I know it is sideways, sorry about that)
We probably should have gone someplace more nature-y but we didn't so...
they lost interest after about two minutes. But we went on a nice walk anyway and eventually saw, or at least heard, all the things on the list.
